Ashen City Blog Tour Wrap-Up

Ashen City Blog Tour

Wow! What an awesome and exciting tour this has been! Did you miss a review or reading one of the interviews with Sara?

No worries! Below is a short recap of the lively interviews and other fun features (with links).

First up, a mini-review of Ashen City over at Holly’s Little Book Reviews.

Sara’s writing is absolutely awesome (I have so many highlights in my copy!), and has the perfect amount of suspense and emotion. The only part I’m having trouble with is the fact that I have to wait for book 3!

If you love reading dystopian, be sure not to miss this guest post from Sara! What are her top three dystopian novels? Find out on Lands Uncharted.

Another great review of Ashen City over at Midwest Ladies Who Lit!

At no point in these pages did I set the book down because I was bored, nor did I ever wonder when things were going to get good again.

Writer Brie Donning was kind enough to a double feature of not only of her book review, but also an interview with Sara. What element in Black Tiger or Ashen City was her first idea? Click here to find out.

This was a pretty epic book review from Nina over at Looseleaf Book Reviews for the Ashen City blog tour. She touched on a subject that Sara Baysinger writes about, but like she said, you won’t find it in most dystopian novels today. Check it out to see what it is!

Absolutely loved this post by Sara over on Looseleaf Book Reviews about all things dystopian! The Evolution of the Dystopian Genre

If readers had been unsure if they wanted to pick up Ashen City, author R.J. Metcalf had a convincing review of why dystopian readers should.

It’s a roller coaster ride from there through to the end, filled with highs and lows in Frankfort, angst and glee with the Turner brothers, and several familial twists that had me breathless and unable to stop.

Authors Shantelle Mary Hannu and Jannette Fuller were super sweet and spotlighted Ashen City and featured the giveaway sponsored by Sara.

I definitely agree with Amanda over at Hope Perch about the cover art of the Black Tiger series being amazing (and like she said, the story even more so!). Read more of Amanda’s thoughts about Sara Baysinger’s Ashen City over at her blog.

Enjoy watching book trailers? Here’s one I made to give a sneak peek of what Ember faces.

As the tour was coming to an end, Sara and I talked about me sharing this small snippet of a video I sent her when I finished reading Ashen City. Sometimes the most unexpected characters can lead to a change of heart…and Rain was one of them.

Lastly, to wrap up the tour with a bang, Sara shared “10 Fun Facts About Black Tiger That You DID NOT See Coming. (Or maybe you did…)” on her blog yesterday morning. FYI: Number seven is awesome.

Many thanks to the bloggers who participated in this tour and Sara for giving readers an inside scoop about Ashen City.

About the Book

Ashen CityMake your choice, Ember Carter. And make it count.

Ember Carter has escaped the flames of death. But will she ever be free from Chief Titus? When the orchard goes up in smoke and her family turns up missing, Ember returns to Frankfort hoping to find her father and brother, and to get Titus to drop the death wish he has against her.

But Titus is always one step ahead. When Ember faces him head-on, she’s captured, only to receive another death sentence. On her way to her execution, plans go a little askew, and Ember finds herself traveling to the one place no one dares travel: Louisville. If the outskirts of Ky were a ghost town, the ashen city is the borderline of hell itself, but it’s the one place Ember can find refuge from the people who want her dead.

In the ashen city, Ember must learn that being a hero is more than doing what is right because she can, but doing it for the good of the people. And when plans take a turn for the worst, she must decide if it’s worth risking her life to save her country.
