Five Reasons Why I Want to Read Reconciliation by Amy Brock McNew

Happy release day, Amy Brock McNew!

Reconciliation is officially available (you can get your copy HERE) and I am super pumped about reading more of Liz’s story. Joining her on this journey in book one, Rebirth, was amazing and I know that this one will be just as amazing.

I thought I celebrate this wonderful occasion by sharing five reasons why I’m going to be reading Reconciliation sometime next month.

Five Reasons Why I Want to Read Reconciliation by Amy Brock McNew.jpg

1. The bad guy.

Rebirth doesn’t end with a cliff hanger, but we do have one big unresolved problem…Kade. If I thought the first demon was crazy evil, I can only imagine how Kade will top him in everything. He’s lurking the in the shadows and it is time for him to leave…forever.

2. The action.

Book one of The Reluctant Warrior Chronicles was packed with heavy action. Just when you think things will be good for a while, no. The demons come in and ruin everything. Almost every page was filled with Liz and Ryland fighting evil. I have no doubt this book will be the same way.

3. A real romance.

I confess I am not the biggest fan of heavy romance. However, I loved how there was no being fake. Liz and Ryland’s relationship was one of fighting together as a spiritual team, which I feel is so important in any relationship/marriage. I am eagerly excited to see their relationship continue to grow stronger. Plus, I heard the news that readers will see…

4. A wedding!

Yes, a wedding! I don’t know when, but Liz confirmed this yesterday in a chat she had with me. She mentioned she doesn’t like frills, but her Mom seems to be heavily involved, so we might get frills and more.

5. Spiritual warfare.

I can’t see the spiritual battle around me as Liz can (obviously), but I realized that spiritual warfare is ugly and brutal. I realized that I need to always be on guard and remain firm in Christ. It’s only through Christ and His strength alone that we can resist evil, which Rebirth reminded me of. I can imagine Reconciliation will also remind me of this, which I believe is a very good thing.

About the Book

Some ghosts from the past refuse to stay dead.

Finally. Finally everything is coming together for Liz Brantley. She’s marrying Ryland Vaughn, the man of her dreams. She’s embraced her calling and battles the minions of hell bent on her destruction. And she’s left her dark past far behind her. Or so she thought.

A secret she holds close, stuffed down deep, surfaces at the wrong time for everyone in Liz’s life, leaving a trail of devastation. Left reeling, Liz wonders if she made a mistake, putting her trust in God, her guardian Arie, and Ryland. And the demon Kade capitalizes on her shaken faith. With a vengeance.

Torn between her tortured past and the future she craves, Liz is desperate to defeat every demon that stands in her way. Before all hell breaks loose and swallows her whole.

Let’s Chat!

Hi, Liz! Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to come chat with me. I’m so excited!

“Thanks for havin’ me. You’ll have to bear with me. I’m a little stressed right now, so…I’ll do my best.”

Your second book is coming out this week. How do you feel about people seeing every little detail of your life?

It’s freaking crazy! I have no idea why people would want to read about my jacked-up life, but whatever. All I can do is hope it helps somebody. Especially other young women. I want them to know they’re not alone, you know? They can get through whatever comes at ’em. Just takes some guts and a lot of faith.

A shadow passes over her face. I get the impression going deeper is off limits. I decide to lighten things up.

I hear you got engaged. 😀 Are you getting excited for the big day? (Her eyes light up and a huge grin commandeers her face.)

Oh yeah! Ry and I have been waiting for this forever. It’s really happening! He’s just—I’m just really lucky. Blessed. (She seems lost in thought, then shakes herself.) It’s gonna be simple, I don’t do frills. I just want him. I don’t really care about the rest, but Mom’s really into it, so we’re letting her do her thing. She needs it. (Another shadow, and I can guess why.)

I heard about your Dad. I’m so sorry.

Thanks. I don’t talk about it. (She pulls her ankle up under her other leg and picks at the fraying edge on the hole in her jeans.)

So, off-the-wall question. I’m curious about what kind of food you’ll have at the reception. We all know how Ryland loves to eat. (Laughter from both.)

Seriously, I gotta to learn to cook! This BBQ joint we love is catering. (Shakes her head and looks exasperated.) Ry wanted to add pigs in a blanket. Really? Who serves that at a wedding? The only way he’d let it go was if I promised to make them for our first meal home after the honeymoon. (At this, her eyes glitter and a faint blush colors her cheeks.) Guess I better figure out how.

I know you’re busy, so I’ll let you go. Any final thoughts?

(Liz blows out a breath.) I hope people enjoy the book. It’s intense. But, life is intense. Especially mine. There’s good and bad, funny and sad, and you just have to roll with it. Sometimes that’s easier said than done. Just hold on to the ones you love and keep your faith, no matter what. And never, ever stop fighting. Yeah, that’s about it. Nothing profound. (She laughs, but there’s that shadow again.)

Thank you again for chatting with me, Liz.

“You’re welcome.” (Her phone goes off.) “Gotta run, sorry. Ilona had a vision, and we have incoming.”

Demons?

“Yeah. What else?” (Liz checks her dagger and the firearm I just notice at the small of her back, under her sweatshirt.) “See ya. Thanks again!”

“Hope she stays safe out there,” I whisper as I watch her leave.
